Nautical charts

Eye4Software HydroMagic supports a wide range of nautical chart formats and background map sources to help hydrographic surveyors, dredging contractors, marine engineers, and port authorities efficiently plan, execute, and analyze survey projects. By combining accurate chart data with GPS, RTK positioning systems, and echo sounder measurements, HydroMagic provides a comprehensive environment for bathymetric mapping, seabed analysis, dredging operations, reservoir surveys, and coastal engineering applications. HydroMagic supports industry-standard nautical chart formats including IHO S57 and S63 charts, as well as background mapping formats such as GeoTIFF, AutoCAD DXF, and MicroStation DGN.

Nautical charts are not regular maps. Regular maps concentrate on land areas, landmarks, roads, railways, etc., whereas nautical charts show details of water areas.

On Nautical charts, land areas and features on charts are drafts and only there to embellish the chart; the nautical chart conveys specifically information to assist in safely navigating the area that the chart covers.
On nautical charts, you can import background maps, like AutoCAD DXF, MicroStation DGN and GeoTIFF.
