Connect-WSMan - Powershell 2.0 CmdLet
Microsoft Windows PowerShell is a command-line shell and scripting tool based on the Microsoft .NET Framework. It is designed for system administrators, engineers and developers to control and automate the administration of Windows and applications.
More than hundred command-line tools (so called "cmdlets") can be used to perform system administration tasks and Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI). These cmdlets are easy to use, with standard naming conventions and common parameters, and standard tools for piping, sorting, filtering, and formatting data and objects.
Connect-WSMan
Short description Connects to the WinRM service on a remote computer. Syntax Connect-WSMan [-ApplicationName <string>] [-ComputerName <string>] [-Port <int>] [-UseSSL] [-Authentication <Authen tication>] [-ComputerName <string>] [-Credential <PSCredential>] [-Port <int>] [-SessionOption <hashtable>] [<Commo nParameters>] Connect-WSMan [-ConnectionURI <Uri>] [-Authentication <Authentication>] [-ComputerName <string>] [-Credential <PSCr edential>] [-Port <int>] [-SessionOption <hashtable>] [<CommonParameters>] Description The Connect-WSMan cmdlet connects to the WinRM service on a remote computer, and it establishes a persistent connection to the remote computer. You can use this cmdlet within the context of the WS-Management provider to connect to the WinRM service on a remote computer. However, you can also use this cmdlet to connect to the WinRM service on a remote computer before you change to the WS-Management provider.
