Introduction

The mission of the product is to maximize the reliability of your production servers and applications through the automatic detection and correction of problems and issues.

The product runs as a service on the Windows 2003/2000/XP/NT platform. ActiveXperts Network Monitor supports Windows, UNIX, Linux and Novell platforms. When problems are detected, you're immediately notified by network message, e-mail or SMS message. When a failure is detected, the network monitor tool will try to correct the problem.

Freeware version

The freeware version allows an unlimited number of HTTP/HTTPS and ICMP/Ping checks to be configured. The HTTP check can be used to check availability of HTTP and HTTPS sites and check whether the correct web content is being served up. The ICMP/ping function monitors whether a particular server is still responding.

The Freeware version features the following:

  • E-mail notifications, Network Popup Notifications, SMS notifications (including support for SMSC dial-in providers; SMS devices and GSM cellular phones);
  • Windows Explorer-like Manager application;
  • Run Manager Application on any workstation in the network;
  • Web interface, based on XML and XSL standards;
  • Built-in XML reports;
  • HTML and CSV based reports;
  • Advanced logging features;
  • Dependencies.

Registered version

At any time, the product can be upgraded to a registered version to allow the following checks:

There is no separate download for the freeware version; just go to our download site to download the full product.

After 30 days, the product will keep on running, but all checks will be disabled except the ICMP- and HTTP based checks. You can use all other functionality, including E-mail and SMS notifications, logging, web interface, and so on.
