ActiveXperts Network Monitor enables you to check processes on local- and remote computers;
if a process is active, a computer is considered available. If a process is not active, it is not available.
Aditionally, ActiveXperts Network Monitor can check memory usage of a process.
A Process Running rule takes the following parameters:
- Server - The name of the server where the process is running;
- Process - The module name of the process, including the extension. For instance: alerter.exe, or explorer.exe.
- Check memory of this process - Enable/disable memory checking of the particular process. Enter the maximum amount of memory (in MB) that a process may consume;
- Credentials - If alternate credentials are required to access the remote server, select an alternate account here.
ActiveXperts Network Monitor uses WMI Class Win32_Process to retrieve the status and/or memory usage of a process.
The Win32_Process WMI class represents a sequence of events on a Windows® operating system.
A descendent or member of this class is a sequence that consists of an interaction of one or more processors or interpreters, some executable code, and a set of inputs, for example, a client application running on a Windows system.
