ActiveXperts Network Monitor checks

The following checks are provided by ActiveXperts Network Monitor:

Internet Protocols

DNS - Domain Name Server check to check for A Records, MX records, etc.
FTP - File Transfer Protocol check to check for directories, files and file content on the FTP server.
HTTP(s) - Check availability of a (secure) web site, and check web site content.
ICMP Ping - Check a remote host for availability.
IMAP MailServer - Check an IMAP mail server for availability.
LDAP - Check a directory service by executing an LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) query.
NNTP - Check NNTP (Network News Transport Protocol) news servers.
NTP - check NTP (Network Time Protocol) time servers.
POP3 - Check POP3 mail servers.
SMTP - Check SMTP mail servers.
SMTP to POP3 - Check a mail server by sending out over SMTP and receive on a POP3 mailbox.
SNMP GET - Query an SMP compliant device and analyze the result.
SNMP Traps - Receive SNMP traps and analyze the messages.
TCP - Check a device or computer by connecting to it, send a command and analyze the response.

Windows

Anti-Virus - Check anti-virus and anti-spam software on servers and workstations.
CPU Usage - Check CPU usage on servers and workstations.
Directory - Check directory existence, directory changes, directory sizes.
Disk Drives - Check (removable) disk drives.
Disk Space - Check allowed used space and/or required free space.
Event Log - Check for a specific event in a specific event log.
File - Check file existence, file size, file content.
Memory Usage - Monitor the total available physical memory usage, the committed memory or the pages per second.
MS Exchange - Monitor MS Exchange services and the most important MS Exchange performance counters.
MS ISA Server - Monitor MS ISA Server services and the most important MS ISA Server performance counters
MSMQ - Check an MSMQ (Microsoft Message Queue) for its queue length or for its total size (MB).
MS SharePoint - Monitor MS SharePoint Server services and the most important MS SharePoint Server performance counters.
MS Terminal Server - Check number of active/inactive RDP Terminal Server sessions.
Printer - Check status of your printers.
Process - Check status of a process and memory usage of a process
Scheduled Task - Check if a scheduled task has completed successfully or not.
Service - Check the status of a Windows Service.

Windows Scripting

VBScript - Write your own custom checks using VBScript.

Linux / Unix

SSH - Check the status of a Linux or Unix server using SSH.
RSH - Check the status of a Linux or Unix server using RSH.

Database

Database Query - Check the availability of any OLE DB database including MS SQL, MS Access, Oracle, MySQL, SyBase, Informix, Paradox and IBM DB2.
ODBC - Check the availability of any ODBC compliant database.
Oracle - Check the availability of an Oracle database.

Temperature - Check the temperature in a room. This requires a Sensatronics environmental IP device.
Humidity - Check the humidity in a room. This requires a Sensatronics environmental IP device.
Wetness - Check the wetness in a room for water leaks. This requires a Sensatronics environmental IP device.
Power - Check Power. This requires a Sensatronics Senturion IP device.
Light - Check Light. This requires a Sensatronics Senturion IP device.
Motion - Check Motion. This requires a Sensatronics Senturion IP device.
Smoke - Check Smoke. This requires a Sensatronics Senturion IP device.

Miscellaneous

Serial Device - Check a serial device by sneding a query and analyzing the response.
User/groups - Check user/group menmbership using an ADSI query.
