ACTIVEEMAIL SMTP E-MAIL TOOLKIT 2.4 RELEASE NOTES

INTRODUCTION

ActiveEmail SMTP E-mail Toolkit 2.4 is the newest version of the ActiveXperts ActiveEmail product.

Version 2.4 is a small update of version 2.3.

The mission of the product is to provide an easy-to-use programming interface to SMTP email communications.

The product runs on the Windows 2003/XP/2000/NT/98 platforms.

WHAT'S NEW IN ACTIVEEMAIL SMTP E-MAIL TOOLKIT 2.4

  • Constants - Constants are now implemented as properties of the SmtpMail object. In previous versions of ActiveEmail, the constants were provided in separate include files. These include files are now obsolete;
  • Errors - In previous versions of ActiveEmail, error values were defined in separate include files. The new release of ActiveEmail uses Universal ActiveXperts Error Codes. You can find the error codes online: www.activexperts.com/support/errorcodes.

Upgrade

Upgrading from a previous version should be done in the following way:

  • Uninstall 'ActiveXperts SMTP E-mail Toolkit' by using the 'Add/Remove Programs' applet in the Control Panel;
  • Install 'ActiveEmail SMTP Toolkit 2.3' by running the AEMAIL.EXE installation program (can be downloaded from www.activexperts.com/download)
